Major Cleshea Britt started her MARTA Police career in 1999 in the East Precinct. She has served as a Patrol Officer and a Bicycle Patrol Officer during her first 5 years with the department before being promoted to the rank of Sergeant. She spent 4 years at the Central Precinct and then was promoted to the rank of
Lieutenant working in the East, South and North Precincts over the years. In 2020, she became the department’s Night Commander handling all critical incidents that occurred during the overnight hours.
In 2023, she was promoted to the rank of Major and is currently assigned to the North Precinct as the Precinct Commander. As the North Precinct Commander her areas of responsibility are from the Civic Center Station to North Springs Station and the northeast line up to the Doraville Station.
Major Britt certifications include Strategic Planning, Incident Command System for Law Enforcement, NIMS, Emergency Preparedness, Georgia Crisis Intervention Team, Management, Supervision and a Command Level Preparation Course from the Leadership Development Institute of Georgia.
She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from the University of West Georgia. She is currently studying for a Masters in Public Safety Administration from Columbus State University Command College.
