Five Points Station Projects
MARTA is redesigning and renovating Five Points into a state-of-the-art transit hub that will improve service for our customers, create a compelling destination for surrounding neighbors and businesses, and serve millions of annual visitors. There are two parallel but separately funded projects in progress
Five Points Station Transformation
Status: Design
This project is currently in design with a preferred concept (shown below) to reconstruct the station concourse and plaza levels, including a new canopy, improved wayfinding, and public spaces. This work will create a new and inviting urban space above the station, increase accessibility, improve bus
operations, and contribute to the ongoing public and private reinvestment under way in Downtown Atlanta.
As a recipient of federal funding, this project requires environmental review under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The Environmental Assessment (EA) is available. The comment period closed Friday, January 5, 2024. You can learn more on the
external project page

Five Points
Station Rehabilitation:
Status: Construction
This is a full renovation of both the east-west and north-south platform levels below the concourse level. Features include new ceilings, LED lighting, wall surfaces, tile mosaics created by local artists, and wayfinding.
Construction began in 2022 and will continue through 2024. Service will continue throughout both projects, although customers may see some areas and access points closed periodically. These impacts will be communicated to our customers through announcements, signage,
and social media.
