 'Aspirations'
  Media: oxidized Cor-Ten Steel
  Year: 1979
  Conservation Status: In Good Repair
Notes: The artist team goal was to connect the 45-foot sculpture on the ground with the soaring architecture of King Memorial Station, to avoid the sense of it feeling like "a box on stilts" to someone at ground level. The Cor-Ten material is a special type of metal finish that is meant to oxidize to a deep, warm brown. The artists applied a hose to the forms many times before being satisfied with the current rich color.

 'Rise Above'
  Media: Paint on Concrete
  Year: 2016
  Conservation Status: In Good Repair
Notes: One of four murals in the En Route program, this was the first mural in the series, and its title comes from a quotation by Dr. King: "An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity."
